Scope and Contents The articles of incorporation Ohio Historical and Archaeological Society document the formation of the society in Columbus, Ohio on March 12, 1885. The mission of the society was the "promotion of Knowledge of Archeology and History, especially of Ohio, by establishing and maintaining a library of books, manuscripts, maps, charts, etc."

Scope and Contents The trustees of the Ohio Archaeological and Historical Society contracted with certified public accountants to audit the accounts of the society starting in 1913. After 1933 the auditor of state performed audits of society accounts every three years. The treasurer maintained copies of both the private and state audit reports.

Scope and Contents Film footage taken at the Ohio State Fairgrounds that depicts the cottage in which Ulysses S. Grant was born being disassembled and moved on trucks. A man seen on film in a wide brimmed, white hat and long, dark coat with a mustache is Ohio State Archeological and Historical Society director Erwin Zepp. Written note on the box states "Tearing Down Building and Taking It to the Park Dept."
