Scope and Contents An unaddressed letter signed by Governor Jonathan Return Meigs. The letter asks the sheriff of an unidentified county to cause elections to be held to fill the position of John S. Edwards representative of the sixth congressional district of Ohio. The letter is dated March 2, 1813. The original document has been removed for reasons of security.

Scope and Contents This collection includes a letter from Hull in Detroit to Governor R.J. Meigs in Marietta, Ohio concerning the arrival of the army, a short supply of provisions, Mr. Piatt providing supplies, the militia keeping communications open, and trusting that Meigs will not forsake them.
