Collection contains a carte de visite portrait of Calvin Ellis Stowe, the husband of American author Harriet Beecher Stowe. Stowe met Harriet Beecher when he was a professor at Lane Theological Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 1830s. They moved to Maine in 1850 when Stowe took a position at Bowdoin College.
