Scope and Contents The collection ranges in date from 1942 through 1999 and contains manuscript letters, postcards, photos, printed material and newsletters. In boxes 1 - 4 items of interest include over seven hundred V-Mail letters sent to family and friends such as Betty Schottenstein, Bernard Mellman and Harry Post. Scope and Contents The Julius Foris, Jr. Collection is divided into five series according to format. Series I of the collection consists of negatives and is divided into two sub-series. Sub-series I contains negatives that were numbered by the photographer while sub-series II contains negatives that were not numbered. When available, descriptions and notes written by Foris were kept and can be found with the corresponding negatives. Scope and Contents Series V of the Julius Foris, Jr. Collection contains programs and certificates from Julius Foris, Jr.'s photography career. The series includes copies of publications in which Foris' photographs were published, as well as digital copies of his photographs and a DVD copy of "Portrait of an American Town: A Home Movie" (1993). Also included is a copy of "A Foris Family History" compiled by Foris' brother, Anthony Foris.
